Paris Original

 

This picture has a history. My namesake, Willem Lucas my paternal grandfather copied the original of this in pastel for my parents' wedding present (to the best of my knowledge). We had it in the family for years, but it became damaged and misplaced.

I discovered a faded print of the picture in an op shop around 2017, and a year or so later decided to create my own version. This is the 4th that I've completed so far.

I had fun creating a vibrant 3-D populace using jigsaw pieces. There are also postage stamps and magazine cut-outs that contribute.
