This collage kicked off my current arts and crafts jag. I'd come across a framed and faded print of the picture I remember my paternal grandfather - after whom I was named, with my middle name coming from my maternal grandfather - doing in pastel, possibly when he and his wife visited us in Dunedin, New Zealand in 1961 or 1962. Yes, my memory goes back that far. It was intended as their wedding gift (though they were married several years by then).

The picture was lost about 15 years later, but I always remembered it. So I grabbed the chance to bring it back into the family as a collage, using postage stamps, magazine cut-outs and some pastels of my own.
